  • Record of Site Condition Remediation -  Environmental remediation outside the excavation footprint is complete, with soil backfilled and compacted to accommodate the shoring drill rig platform.

  • Permits Status - The shoring permit has been approved by the City.

  • Dewatering System - The dewatering system design has been finalized and coordinated ahead of excavation start.




  • Structural demolition substantially complete  - The existing commercial buildings on site have been demolished, with above-grade structures cleared by late April 2026.

  • Below-grade clearance and foundation removal underway  - Excavation crews are actively removing existing building foundations, basement slabs, and buried concrete layers to prepare the site for shoring platform construction.

  • Site remediation underway  - Environmental crews are actively remediating contaminated soil across the site.

  • Permit issuance expected mid-May - The next permit application is in progress with the City of Toronto, with permit issuance targeted for mid May, 2026.




Demolition and site preparation activities are expected to start during the week of March 9th. As part of this work, there will be drill rigs on the property to test soils and to prepare for excavation work in the subsequent months.


A Community Liaison Group has been setup with stakeholders from the neighbourhood so that input can be gathered for the project's Construction Management Plan. Additionally, immediate neighbours of the property have been consulted on the demolition plans and overall construction strategy.
